About

---------------------------

I am a geologist with various interests in earth & planetary sciences including structural geology, tectonic geomorphology, fluvial sedimentology and geochronology. My research is based on past geological reconstructions and investigating earth surface dynamics associated with tectonic activity and climate change in various geological settings and time scales. I am involved in geochronological dating (i.e. cosmogenic nuclide dating, optically stimulated luminescence and radiocarbon dating) combined with systematic field-based geological and structural mapping to reconstruct geological past. I perform dynamic landscape evolution modelling (LAPSUS), which provides an essential aspect to assess catchment-wide erosion and sedimentation behaviour and landscape evolution quantitatively. Additionally, I have an interest in landsliding at orogen scale, its spatio-temporal distribution and topographic patterns as an indicator for natural hazards.
